Day Twelve of Noirvember: List o’ the Week — Top 10 Taglines

It’s Love and Murder at First Sight!

I love movie taglines — especially the taglines for noir features. They crack me up. They’re so EMPHATIC! And so DRAMATIC! This week’s list features some of my favorites. Do you have any?

Double Indemnity (1944): It’s Love And Murder At First Sight!

Kiss Me Deadly (1955): Blood red kisses! White hot thrills! Mickey Spillane’s latest H-bomb!

Touch of Evil (1958): The Strangest Vengeance Ever Planned!

Gun Crazy (1950): Her Violent Loves! Her Vicious Crimes! Her Wild Escapes!

Criss Cross (1949): When you Double-Cross a Double-Crosser…IT’S A CRISS-CROSS!

In a Lonely Place (1950): Look Deep Into These Eyes! Is It Love, Hate Or Murder? They’re The Eyes Of Humphrey Bogart In A Lonely Place.

A hard cop and a soft dame!

The Big Heat (1953): A hard cop and a soft dame!

Nora Prentiss (1947): A mouth like hers is just for kissing not for telling!

The Killers (1946): Every kiss carved his name on another bullet!

The Big Sleep (1946): The type of man she hated . . . was the type she wanted!

Join me tomorrow for Day 13 of Noirvember!

    “TNT – Taylor ‘n Turner – Together They’re Terrific!”

  2. These are all fantastic. But we have a winner with The Killers. (Needless to day, thanks for these!)

  4. The tagline for Criss-Cross is … hilarious. Love that one 🙂

  5. Great post! Loving the Noirvember series. Since I just watched Too Late for Tears, I have to add: “That’s not love light, that’s MURDER in her eyes!”

  6. That Big Sleep tag line– wow. 😀
