Day Six of Noirvember: Quote of the Day
“The biggest mistake I made before was shooting for peanuts. Five years have taught me one thing: any time you take a chance, you better be sure the rewards are worth the risk, ’cause they can put you away just as fast for a ten dollar heist as they can for a million dollar job.”
— Sterling Hayden in The Killing (1957)
Join me tomorrow for Day 7 of Noirvember!
A philosopher!
Great quote from a great movie!
I saw this five years ago for the first time at a tribute to Stanley Kubrick at the L.A. County Museum of Art, and thought it was great. An “Asphalt Jungle” in the horse racing realm!
It’s one of my Top 10 favorite noirs. I think it’s absolute genius.
