October is Awards Month!

I am taking a brief break from movie reviews and performer profiles to celebrate some awards I’ve received lately. In other words, I am being totally self-indulgent and talking about me, me, me! Come on along!

For today’s entry, I want to give sincere thanks to Gwen over at Movies, Silently, for bestowing upon me my first Sunshine Blogger Award! As part of the award, I have to give my responses to the areas below, and then pass on the award to 10 other bloggers.

Here goes!

Favorite Color:

It changes – sometimes it’s purple, sometimes it’s orange. Most often, though, it’s mauve, which also was the favorite color of my favorite boss.

Favorite Animal:

Cats – of which I have two.

Favorite Number:

Three. ‘Cause it’s a magic number. (Yes, it is.)

Facebook or Twitter:

Twitter. (If you’d told me two years ago that I become a Twitter devotee, I’d have said you were talking through your hat.)

Giving or Receiving:

Receiving. (Is that greedy?)

Alcoholic Drink:

That’s a toss-up – either rum punch or minted vodka lemonade. I make them both. And they are spectacular!

Non-Alcoholic Drink:

That’s so easy – Ale8! It’s a soft drink that is manufactured in my mother and grandmother’s birthplace, Winchester, Kentucky. We go there to visit every summer and we bring back enough cases to last the entire year. 

Passions:

Classic film (duh). Writing (double duh).Yard sales (I go here every year!) Reading. My Vitamix. Green smoothies. Cooking and cookbooks. Low-sodium eating. Colonoscopies for everybody 50 years and older!

Favorite City:

Chicago! (It’s my kind of town.)

Favorite TV show:

No question: The Dick Van Dyke Show. (I’ve always maintained that my marriage failed because my husband wasn’t enough like Rob Petrie.)
