Stay Tuned . . . Seven Shadows is Coming . . .

Seven Shadows, a week-long cross-over blog event, will shine the spotlight on seven of the greatest features of the classic film noir era.

The event will feature reviews written by Andrew from 1001 Movies I (Apparently) MUST See Before I Die and related articles penned (keyboarded?) by yours truly, here at Shadows and Satin. On selected days, we will offer a guest post on each other sites (hence the “cross-over” label, see?). And to top off the week, both sites will offer a giveaway of a book focusing on film noir – Andrew will offer Blackout: World War II and the Origins of Film Noir by Sheri Chinen Biesen, and I will give away Film Noir: The Dark Side of the Screen by Foster Hirsch. To enter my giveaway, just leave a comment below or retweet any announcement I make about the event on Twitter. Giveaway winners will be randomly selected from all entrants and announced on May 8th.

Seven Shadows begins on April 30th, with both sites focusing on a single film noir feature, every day for seven days. The schedule for the event is below:

    • April 30th    Introduction to Seven Shadows
    • May 1st:      Murder, My Sweet
    • May 2nd      Mildred Pierce
    • May 3rd      The Postman Always Rings Twice
    • May 4th      The Killers
    • May 5th      Out of the Past
    • May 6th      Gun Crazy
    • May 7th      The Asphalt Jungle

Mark your calendars and don’t miss your chance to leap into the darkness of Seven Shadows, starting April 30th!

You only owe it to yourself . . .
